Creative

Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be drawn towards the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

Youthreach

This recently produced video provides an excellent overview of what Youthreach is all about....

Youthreach is a Department of Education and Skills official education, training and work experience programme. It offers a flexible programme of education, vocational training and work experience for 15 to 20 year olds who have left school early, without any formal qualifications. Youthreach supports young people  to identify options within adult life, and provides them with opportunities to acquire certification.

Youthreach generally operates a  2 year programme on a full time year round basis, and delivers 35 hours Education and training per week for 45 weeks. Youthreach centres are managed by Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and SOLAS Community Training Centres.

A Training Allowance is paid to Youthreach trainees, depending on age.

The Youthreach programme is delivered through Centres for Education, Community Training Centres and Justice Workshops.
