They tend to enjoy clerical and most forms of office work, where they perform essential administrative duties. They often form the backbone of large and small organisations alike. They may enjoy being in charge of office filing systems, and using computers and other office equipment to keep things running smoothly. They usually like routine work hours and prefer comfortable indoor workplaces.

Many courses offer an award on completion, and so can be classified according to the level of the award. CareersPortal classify courses according to 5 Ed Zone's. We have listed course types based on 'Educational Zones' to help you find a course at a level that suits you.

Ed Zone 1
All courses up to and including Junior Certificate standard (NFQ Levels 1 - 4)

Ed Zone 2
Covers Leaving Certificate and most one year Certificates (NFQ Level 5)

Ed Zone 3
Covers Advanced & Higher Certificates, typically two years of study after Leaving Cert. (NFQ Level 6)

Ed Zone 4
Mainly covers Degrees and equivalent. (NFQ Levels 7 & 8)

Ed Zone 5
Covers Postgraduate and specialist professional awards. (NFQ Levels 9 & 10)
