What are your interests?



Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be atrracted to the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design activities, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

What I like most about my role

What I like the most about my role as a manager in Human Capital Management is the opportunity it has given me to work with people from a wide variety of companies, all of whom have unique backgrounds and experience.

My specific role calls on me to engage with stakeholders on a daily basis and build relationships which are long lasting; this is something I appreciate about my role as a Change Manager. 

What attracted me to Deloitte

When I was seeking a graduate position I researched the big 4 and other top consulting firms in Ireland and the UK. What stood out to me about Deloitte was that they offered consulting solutions from the initial scoping / design phase right through to implementation, unlike a lot of other consulting firms that offer one or the other. I have always enjoyed seeing a project through from start to finish and I have been extremely lucky that Deloitte has already given me the opportunity to this so early on in my career. 

What I didn’t know but wish I knew before joining!

It is very important to work hard on client site but still make time to return to Deloitte to increase your network and knowledge base. For my first 6 months on client site I didn’t realise the importance of this but thankfully I had a wonderful appraiser who explained it to me. Once I made more of an effort to touch base with the office I made some wonderful friends and always felt more connected.

My day-to-day role

I work as a Business Readiness Manager for a client who is implementing a large scale system implementation. The role involves one-to-ones Business Readiness meetings where I meet with team leaders in the business to discuss their readiness needs.

Examples of my deliverables include: Change Impact Assessments, Process Workshops, Communication Events, UAT & End User Training, Front-to-Back Testing etc. It is important to create buy-in with the business as soon as possible and my role is to create and maintain a positive relationship between the business and the project.
