Applications are now open for Engineering Your Future, a week-long, hands-on programme designed to introduce TY students to the exciting and diverse world of engineering.

The annual Transition Year programme is coordinated by Engineers Ireland’s STEPS programme – and will be hosted by a number of third-level institutes around Ireland in 2019: DITUCDDCU, IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown in Dublin; CIT in Cork; IT Carlow; Waterford IT; GMIT and IT Tralee.

There is also an industry version of the programme which runs during Engineers Week at both ESB Dublin and ESB Limerick.

The programme is designed to give TY students an in-depth understanding of the diversity of engineering at third level and in industry. During the week, students attend interactive talks and presentations; get hands-on experience with group-based activities; visit local industry and meet engineers at various stages in their careers

Participation is limited to between 20 and 40 students at each location. Successful applicants are selected based on a number of factors, including Junior Certificate maths and science results and reasons for seeking a place on the programme. There is a small fee for participating in the programme. (Fees are waived for students from DEIS schools.)

The deadline for applications is November 30th.
