In Room 101 you can find out about our broad-based Business courses. Graduates of business from BCFE go on to careers in accounts, HR, sales and marketing and management. Students on the HND in Business have the opportunity to travel abroad for work experience in Finland supported by Erasmus+.

Interested in a career in the Travel and Tourism industry?                               Visit Room 102 to find out about the great level 5 and level 6 courses on offer. Work experience is an important aspect of all programmes. For students on level 6 programme work experience is in Finland or in Malta supported by Erasmus+.

The social care department will be in Rooms 13, 14 and 14A. The department offers four one year level 5 courses and an advanced two year course in Social and Community Work. Graduates from the Social Care department are working throughout the health, community and early childhood services caring for people. The department place great emphasis on supportive interaction with each student, giving them the skills and knowledge to work competently and with confidence and sensitivity in the caring professions. Work experience, psychology, mental health and well-being are core subject areas across all programmes

The Media courses will be located in the Radio Studio, from where students broadcast regularly and in Room 8. Media courses include one year foundation programmes, two year Journalism and Radio HNDs and a Degree in Media Production Management. Collaboration and practical work that prepares you to work across all platforms -print, broadcast journalism, online journalism, mobile journalism and social media- is at the heart of the Journalism HND which will be based in Room 8.



The Art department offers three Portfolio courses and three Higher National Diploma programmes in Graphics, Fibre Art and Illustration. It is a hub of creativity, hard-work, fun, ideas, design and artmaking, both traditional and digital. Art in BCFE offers all the challenges and excitement of Art College in a supportive learning environment with small classes. The department is committed to nurturing the creative and artistic development of our students.

On Open Day you will have the opportunity to visit each course in its home room and to see students’ work and to talk with both staff and students about the courses.

BCFE is at the centre of the Animation in Ireland. Highly successful graduates include Nora Twomey, acclaimed animator and Oscar-nominated director of The Breadwinner, and Richie Baneham, winner of the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for his work on the film Avatar at the 82nd Academy Awards. Come along and see the work of current students. Find out more about the creative, artistic technical and story-telling aspects of Animation and the progression from the one year foundation course the HND in Computer & Classical Animation to the Degree in Animation. All the Animation courses will be in Studio 9.
