The Guidance Counsellor is Breda Whelan .

Guidance Office on first floor near the staff room.

A Comprehensive Guidance Service is offered to all students from 1st to 6th years.

It includes 3 aspects of Guidance :

  • Career Guidance
  • Educational Guidance
  • Personal Guidance  

All senior classes (4th-6th) have a weekly guidance class .

In 3rd Year students sit the DATS (Differential Appitide Test) and decide whether to do Transition Year or continue on to do the  Leaving Certificate.   Students are encouraged to research their options before making important decisions.

Senior Students are encouraged to attend open days preferably at weekends where possible. The school organises regular presentations from Colleges, Career Talks and all students attend a Careers Exhibition in 5th year.

A number of events will be run during the year for all students in the school to help and promote positive Mental HealtH and Wellbeing.

All students are free to make an appointment to discuss personal issues in a confidential setting.

irst Year Students will be making their Subject Choice for Junior Cert shortly, this will be discussed in class and parents are advised to discuss subject choice with their son/daughter. Information on each subject is available in articles section of this page. if any query please call or email the Guidance Counsellor.
