The apprentice can then review all information and apply directly to the employer.
The new jobs portal is a fantastic resource to help apprentices to connect with employers and secure those all important work placements on their "earn and learn" programme. However, some people who are interested in doing an apprenticeship may not yet be ready to send off their applications and may need more time to consider the different apprenticeship opportunities available to them. Here at CareersPortal.ie, we recognise how important it is to choose the right path for you, so we have built the tool to make sure future apprentices are fully aware of the numerous different apprenticeship types that they can pursue.
Above is our search tool where you can search various apprenticeship types. This allows you to filter apprenticeships by QQI level, career sectors/industries, and even by career interests. You can also see the number of years it takes to complete the apprenticeship and also whether the apprenticeship is live or in development (i.e. will be available in the near future). Each individual apprenticeship page has a link to apprenticeship.ie's new jobs portal, so you can search employment opportunities for the apprenticeship you're interested in. Why not give our search engine a try?

These apprenticeships include oppportunities across a range of QQI levels and a number of different career sectors. In recent years, there has also been a significant increase in the number of women pursuing apprenticeships (0.6% in 2016 to 4% in 2019, Sunday Business Post 21/04/2019), but there is still a lot of work to be done to catch up with our European neighbours.
Despite the work to be done in achieving a greater gender balance among apprentices in Ireland, it is clear that more women, and more people in general, are undertaking apprenticeships in the country. The proliferation of apprenticeships is undeniable and it is undoubtedly a really exciting time to pursue these fantastic "earn and learn" opportunities.
