Crowdfunding platform Patreon have announced that they will be opening a new office in Dublin which will serve as their European headquarters.
The expansion of their operations in the European market through Ireland will see an initial 30 new jobs created over the next 2 years.
Positions being opened will be involved with their engineering, product and administrative teams respectively.
Patreon has experienced significant growth since its inception in 2013 and the platform has become an important tool for content creators and publishers online.
Both independent content publishers and media companies have utilized the site strongly so far during Patreon’s five-year existence, with many finding the advertisement free platform and more personal feel are bonuses when producing content for their audience.
Irish based media company and content creators Second Captains moved to the platform in early 2017 after establishing their shows on both Newstalk and RTE and are now the 3rd biggest podcast being hosted on Patreon worldwide.
The company is being supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
