- Think about your own skills and experiences and their relevance or fit for the job you are interested in.
- Make sure that you are eligible to apply for the role; for example, do you have the qualifications or experiences needed.
- Read the question on the application form carefully and make sure that you answer all of the questions including any sub-questions.
- Keep your answers clear and to the point so that you are answering the question.
- Write out your answers in a document before you fill in the application form.
- Use examples that demonstrate your ability to carry out the role you are applying for.
- Carry out a spell check on the document.
- Save a copy of your application form.
The use of online tests is common in the recruitment process for many of the jobs advertised. Tests can be both unsupervised (online tests) and supervised (online tests that are taken onsite and that are supervised or supervised through what we call remote proctoring).
Applicants may be tested on a range of areas depending on what the position entails, but the most common tests are:
Verbal Reasoning: The Verbal Reasoning Test measures the ability to understand written passages and the logical evaluation of an argument.
Numerical Reasoning: The Numerical Reasoning Test measures the ability to make correct decisions or inferences from numerical data.Job Simulation: The Job Simulation Test measures how you relate to a variety of work related scenarios, which attempt to identify what you would most likely do in a situation.
Learn about the organisation
In order to prepare for the interview, you should find out as much as possible about the job and the organisation that you are applying to. This will help you decide if the job is right for you and will give you more confidence in the interview

• Get a copy of their brochure and marketing material if possible.
• Check the newspapers or online for any recent press releases on the organisation.
• If possible, talk to some people in the organisation, as this will give you an insight into how the organisation is run.
Know the skills and qualities needed for the job
The skills and quality descriptions are usually carefully worded in the job description. They may contain a number of key words, which should give you an insight into what the employer sees as key to this role. Try to make sure you use these as a cross check against the experiences and skills you want to talk to the interview board about.

• Give examples of times when you demonstrated these skills and qualifications.
