Linguistic

The Linguistic's interests are usually focused on ideas and information exchange. They tend to like reading a lot, and enjoy discussion about what has been said. Some will want to write about their own ideas and may follow a path towards journalism, story writing or editing. Others will develop skills in other languages, perhaps finding work as a translator or interpreter. Most Linguistic types will enjoy the opportunity to teach or instruct people in a topic they are interested in.

Want to work in the agriculture sector?

Interested in a career in agriculture? The Agri Careers Expo takes place on Wednesday 14th February in the Main Hall, RDS.

The event promises to showcase and highlight agricultural careers in Ireland today. Kick start your agri-related career by visiting the Expo. For employers also, this exhibition will bring together the most promising and relevant applicant base for your agri-recruitment requirements. 

The event, which is hosted by the Irish Farmers Journal and Devenish, will have over 1,000 jobs available on the day across 50 exhibitors. Register for FREE tickets to the event and be sure to check out the event on our events calendar. 

Available jobs on the day will be in the areas of Accounting and Finance, Farm Work, Engineering and Mechanics, Sales and Marketing, Research and Development, Operations, Health and Safety, IT and Communications, Management, and HR to name but a few. To read more, click here.  

Listed below are a slection of the jobs on offer at the expo. 

Department of Agriculture 

The Department of Agriculutre, Food and the Marine is to recruit up to 60 new people this year, including veterinary inspectors, assistant agricultural inspectors, general operatives, craftspeople and harbour masters. Competition for these roles will take place in 2019 and will be advertised at the Irish Farmers Journal Agri Careers Expo on 14 February at the RDS.

Kepak

Kepak will be looking to take on 56 people at the event. Twenty graduates places will be on offer on the day across disciplines for roles in operations, commercial, marketing, procurement, sales, HR, health and safety, engineering, accounting, supply chain and IT.

They are also looking for 30 general operatives nationwide, two hygiene operatives in Poppintree, an international trader in AgraKepak, one site manager in Monaghan one health and safety co-ordinator in Cork and one business development executive in the west of Ireland.

Bord Bia

Bord Bia have confirmed that 11 roles will be available at the Expo with posts in marketing, communications and HR as well as opportunities in overseas markets such as North America, Shanghai, North Africa and Great Britain.

Teagasc

Teagasc also has a number of roles to be filled, including 13 full-time positions and up to 50 Walsh Fellowships.
