Administrative people are interested in work that offers security and a sense of being part of a larger process. They may be at their most productive under supervisors who give clear guidelines and while performing routine tasks in a methodical and reliable way.

They tend to enjoy clerical and most forms of office work, where they perform essential administrative duties. They often form the backbone of large and small organisations alike. They may enjoy being in charge of office filing systems, and using computers and other office equipment to keep things running smoothly. They usually like routine work hours and prefer comfortable indoor workplaces.

Now in its 11th Year, the CareersPortal.ie National Career Skills Competition has once again attracted thousands of entries from schools all around the country.

Final adjudication is NOW taking place. WATCH THIS SPACE and our social media feeds for updates on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Details of all prize winners, taken from the shortlist below, will be posted on Wednesday 1st of May, 2019.

The standard has been excellent this year, with fantastic entries coming in from all over the country. This is the first year of our new Vlog category and we are delighted with the standard of video submissions that have come in.

The National Career Skills Awards Ceremony 2019 will take place on Wednesday 8th May in the Clock Tower at the Department of Education & Skills, Marlborough Street, Dublin, 1.

The winning students, their parents, programme co-ordinators and school principals are invited to attend the prize giving ceremony.  We will be in direct contact with each school regarding arrangements.

There are number of fantastic prizes to be won, including a GoPro Hero 6 for 1st place entries, Beats by Dr. Dre for 2nd place and bluetooth speakers for those who come in 3rd place.
