Rent the Runway, Inc. is set to create 150 jobs over the next three years as it announces the establishment of its first international office in Galway. The company, which was founded to offer a sustainable solution to the modern woman's need for something new to wear, offers consumers the option of renting designer clothing instead of buying it. It will be opening its office in the Claddagh area of Galway as it looks to grow its international operations. The roles at the company’s new international technology office will include software engineers and developers, who will have ample opportunity for career development.
The expansion promises to be of great benefit to the Galway economy and the company is eager to recruit the top tech talent emerging in the region. Martin Shanahan, IDA Ireland CEO, has said that the company’s choice of Galway serves as a vote of confidence in the strength of Ireland’s technology sector. Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys has welcomed the announcement from Rent the Runway and reaffirmed Ireland’s position as an attractive location for disruptive and innovative companies. Rent the Runway Chief Technology Officer, Josh Builder expressed a similar sentiment, attributing Galway's atmosphere of creativity as further enticement to the city.
