School leavers, take the next step and make a career with your talent for numbers.

Accounting Technician Ireland provide a structure that lets you earn while you learn with an approach that suit all learners, with courses in over 70 locations as well as online learning.

Our innovative qualification combines professional examinations with practical work experience, to ensure our graduates bring real value to the jobs market.

Accounting Technician Ireland’s internationally-recognised qualifications are designed to fast-track your career in accounting and finance. Our 1 Year Certificate and 2 Year Diploma can be studied full-time, part-time and online, and at a wide range of locations nationwide.

The Accounting Technician Apprenticeship gives you the chance to jump straight into a new job in a new workplace, where you get paid at least €19k a year and enjoy fully funded tuition. Through this apprenticeship you can become an experienced member of Accounting Technicians Ireland in just two years.

The practical nature of our apprenticeship programme, the salary and the fully-funded fees make the Accounting Technician Apprenticeship particularly appealing to school leavers who prefer learning by experience to full-time college education.

Highly reputable employers in practice, industry and public sector are recruiting which is also attractive to applicants from an on the job learning and training perspective and expectation that will be facilitated.

Apprentices work in the office four days a week and study in a local college one day a week during the two-year programme, which begins in September.

The off-the-job training for the Accounting Technician Apprenticeship is currently run by the following institutions:

  • Accounting Technicians Academy
  • Cork College of Commerce
  • Coláiste Íde College of Further Education
  • Rathmines College of Further Education
  • Blackrock Further Education Institute
  • Bray Institute of Further Education
  • Monaghan Institute
  • Waterford College of Further Education
  • Galway Technical Institute
  • Limerick College of Further Education
  • Louth O’ Fiaich Institute

Successful graduates of the apprenticeship programme may then progress on to full Accountancy with Chartered Accountants Ireland or one of the other professional accountancy bodies.

Applications for the apprenticeships, based in Dublin, Wicklow, Cork, Waterford, Limerick, Louth, Galway and Monaghan are now open.

Applicants who would like to apply for the September 2019 intake need to complete the online application as soon as possible. 

Beyond the apprenticeship programme, there are also a number of other ways to qualify as an Accounting Technician. Accounting Technicians Ireland will be holding a series of Information Days for those who wish to learn more about the Accounting Technician Diploma Qualification. The Information Days will be taking place between 12pm and 7pm on the following dates:
