Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be atrracted to the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design activities, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

Generation Apprenticeship Competition 2019

More than 70 apprentices who are supported by more than 100 companies are competing in the 2019 Generation Apprenticeship competition. 

The competition has been established to promote and celebrate the best teamwork, leadership, creativity and problem-solving skills of Ireland’s apprentices. 

The finalists in this year’s Generation Apprenticeship competition are joining together to provide apprenticeship taster sessions in various locations across Ireland. A new website, www.gacomp.ie including an online activity finder has been developed to promote the work.  The taster sessions offer the general public the opportunity to drop in and chat with the Generation Apprenticeship competitors and their supporters as well as seeing first-hand the types of industry and people who are providing and benefiting from apprenticeship.

Elevator Pitches as part of Ireland Skills Live

In front of an experienced judging panel 11 finalist Teams battle it out to explain how the alchemy created by teamwork, leadership, creativity and problem-solving gives a future-proofed dimension to skills development in Ireland today.  The elevator pitches will take place on the 22nd of March from 4pm in the RDS Simmons Court.
