Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Sedgwick to create 250 jobs in Ireland

A US company that provides a range of outsourcing functions and technologies for the insurance and financial services industries is to create 250 jobs in Dublin.

Sedgwick intends to fill the positions over the next two years.

Tennessee-headquartered Sedgwick provides business and technology services including claims management and loss adjustment to other firms.

It already employs 400 people here in seven offices in Dublin, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Limerick, Cork and Waterford.

But now, in response to the successful growth of its existing Irish operations, the firm intends to hire 250 more employees in Dublin over the next two years as it grows its international services hub here.

The new staff will work in a range of positions, including customer service, sales, corporate finance, compliance, technology and in roles related to specific areas of insurance.

The vacancies will be filled over the next two years, with recruitment beginning right away.
