OpenSky to create 80 new jobs

OpenSky, an IT and consultancy solutions company which provides automated solutions to public sector bodies, has announced that it will create 80 jobs by 2021, as it pledges a €2.5 million investment for the expansion of the business. The company has seen stable growth in recent years, with revenue increasing by 30% year-on-year over the last two years. OpenSky's systems currently manage more than 100 million digital transactions per month between both the UK and Ireland. The jobs boost will further the company's expansion efforts in international markets, with plans to attract clients in the UK and USA.

OpenSky has seen the demand for its services rise steadily as public sector bodies increasingly opt for digital processes. The company boasts an impressive range of services including Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and Information Intelligence. The new jobs will bring the company's headcount to 160 by the end of 2021, with a range of new roles including digital transformation consultants, software engineers, sales and marketing executives, and project and team leaders.

The job creation has been welcomed by Minister of State for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen TD who said that "innovation and digitisation are key to Ireland's continued economic success". He praised OpenSky's expansion plan for its ambition. OpenSky's client list currently includes the Health Service Executive, the National Transport Authority, and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation. Michael Cronin, Managing Director of OpenSky, emphasised the need for govertment agencies and public bodies to transform their processes and extolled the benefits of using the services OpenSky offers, particularly in boosting productivity.
