Administrative

Administrative people are interested in work that offers security and a sense of being part of a larger process. They may be at their most productive under supervisors who give clear guidelines and while performing routine tasks in a methodical and reliable way.

They tend to enjoy clerical and most forms of office work, where they perform essential administrative duties. They often form the backbone of large and small organisations alike. They may enjoy being in charge of office filing systems, and using computers and other office equipment to keep things running smoothly. They usually like routine work hours and prefer comfortable indoor workplaces.

About Us

Whether you want to move directly into employment or progress to third level, Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute welcomes you to the next phase in your career development. We provide excellent training in many aspects of media and sound, health and sport, design, sustainable energy, computing and technology, and arts and humanities. DFEi welcomes your active participation in college life while you pursue your chosen course of study. Remember, the more you put in the more you benefit, and that will look very good on your CV. Why us?

Student activities at DFEi are as diverse as our student body itself. Our student canteen – The Hive – is regularly home to student gigs and other events such as table quizzes and cultural celebrations.

We are centrally located on Cumberland Street, Dun Laoighre, five minutes’ walk from Monkstown/Salthill DART Station and on the 7/7A/46A/75 bus routes. Paid car parking in the vicinity of the college is plentiful.

All of our specialist rooms have been upgraded to the highest standard in the last three years. From the sound recording studio to the nursing suite, students coming to DFEi will be learning with the most up to date technology and equipment. See more here

Class sizes in DFEi are small and this affords each students the opportunity of reaching their maximum potential through teacher interaction. DFEi’s teaching staff adopt a wide variety of teaching methods and are acutely aware that not all students learn in the same way and come from a variety of different backgrounds. Integral to teaching in DFEi is the use of Moodle, an eLearning Platform, which provides students with an online learning resource.

Graduates of DFEi courses are very successful in progressing to Further/Higher Education or gaining employment. Each course page contains details of the progression links and employment opportunities available.
