Linguistic

The Linguistic's interests are usually focused on ideas and information exchange. They tend to like reading a lot, and enjoy discussion about what has been said. Some will want to write about their own ideas and may follow a path towards journalism, story writing or editing. Others will develop skills in other languages, perhaps finding work as a translator or interpreter. Most Linguistic types will enjoy the opportunity to teach or instruct people in a topic they are interested in.

About Us

Gurteen Agricultural College is situated in the heart of Ireland, in North Tipperary (EirCode E53 TP93). The College provides quality education in pleasant surroundings on a residential (5 day, or 7 day on request) or non-residential basis.

The courses at Gurteen comprise of a mix of practical and theory classes and assessments. Gurteen College is the largest College Farm in Ireland (read more here). 

Our excellent practical facility, together with time spent by students on placement with registered host farmers, ensures that students are encouraged to develop their practical skills fully.

Why us?

Gurteen College has the largest agricultural college farm in Ireland: 414 ha. (1023 ac.) with Beef, Dairy (Holstein/Friesian), Suckler, Sheep and Tillage enterprises.

There is a significant practical element to all the courses offerred at Gurteen.


We have a fleet of 5 New Holland tractors that are updated annually.

A brand new Dairy is being built 2017/18.

Suffiicient student accomodation for all 1st years
DIY Livery available onsite so students can bring their own horse and work with their horse in the evenings / outside of course time. More information below.
