Linguistic

The Linguistic's interests are usually focused on ideas and information exchange. They tend to like reading a lot, and enjoy discussion about what has been said. Some will want to write about their own ideas and may follow a path towards journalism, or story writing or editing. Others will develop skills in other languages, perhaps finding work as a translator or interpreter. Most Linguistic types will enjoy the opportunity to teach or instruct people in a topic they are interested in.

About Us

Founded in 1898, Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is an autonomous university-level College of Education and the Liberal Arts. We are a multi-campus institution with a student population of over 5,000 enrolled on a wide range of programmes, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ever increasing popularity of MIC can be attributed to the quality of our programme provision, availability of scholarships and a reputation for excellence in teaching and research.

Adding to MIC’s appeal is the expanded subject offering now available on the Bachelor of Arts (MI002) programme, four second-level degree teaching programme on the MIC, St Patrick’s Campus, Thurles, and the exciting BA in Contemporary and Applied Theatre Studies degree. Equally popular are the Primary Teaching Degrees, Early Childhood Care and Education degrees, and a range of postgraduate programmes at Graduate Diploma, MA and Ph.D level.
