Limerick College of Further Education is a long-established, state-funded and administered further education college. It is one of many centres of education run by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.
LCFE offers Further Education (Post Leaving Certificate) programmes and Professional qualifications in a variety of disciplines and caters for approximately 1200 full-time and 3000 part-time learners.
Its campuses are situated in the South-East of the city on Mulgrave Street (a short distance from the city centre) and also in East Limerick at Cappamore.
Limerick College of Further Education aims to provide high quality internationally-recognised educational programmes, delivered in a modern dynamic environment by a highly qualified and committed team of teachers. Programmes are accredited by a number of prestigious validating bodies.
The approval of LCFE by these bodies is a further benchmark of the high quality of courses, facilities, tuition and support structures on offer.
Library/Learning Resource Centres
The Library is a central and essential part of the learner’s academic experience. It provides a service that supports teaching, learning and research activities of the LCFE community.
The College’s broadcast media suite supports an online campus radio station for LCFE. ‘iMix – LCFE Online Radio’ provides 10 hours of live programming, Monday to Friday, during the academic year.
The College has a state-of-the art iMac Lab on the College campus. These 21.5 inch iMacs have 16 Gigabytes of RAM and 1Terabyte of Storage. Each has an i5 Processor with a 500 Megabyte Video Card. The installation also includes a RAID Storage system with Backup.
Learners can choose from LCFE’s three campuses as they offer a great study/life balance. Each Campus has been developed to offer the Learner a positive learning experience at a location that is convenient to their individual needs.
