What are your interests?

Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.

Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals. Naturalists like solving problems with solutions that show some sensitivity to the environmental impact of what they do. They like to see practical results and prefer action to talking and discussing.

Irish and International Hospitality Employers to Attend GMIT International Hotel School Careers Fair (6 March, GMIT)

Over 80 stands and 150 employers in the hotel and hospitality industry at home and abroad are to attend the GMIT International Hotel School’s annual Careers Fair on Wednesday, 6 March, in GMIT’s Sports Hall at the Dublin Road campus (2.30pm to 4pm).

Representatives from the Irish and international Hotel, Tourism, and Hospitality industry will offer information on vacancies in various positions and career opportunities including work placements for undergraduate students, graduate programme and other full-time opportunities for final year students.

Diarmuid Ó Conghaile, Head of Department for Tourism & Heritage says, “Our annual Careers Fair has gone from strength to strength and its success is driven by our Links Office, who coordinate with our industry partners at home and aboard to offer both placement and graduate opportunities to our students.  It is the only event of its kind in Ireland that is hosted by a third level institution specifically for the Tourism and Hospitality sector”.

Rory Fitzpatrick, General Manager of the Clayton Hotel Galway and Chair of the Irish Hotels Federation Galway Branch says, “The GMIT Careers Fair is a hugely important event for employers of all types as it affords them the opportunity to meet and engage with the next generation of hospitality professionals.  Our industry is all about making personal connections with people and the GMIT Careers Fair is an excellent occasion for doing just that. Whether it’s a future General Manager or Executive Head Chef you meet on the day or the chance it provides to network with other employers and discuss the trends and challenges inherent in attracting talent, the GMIT Careers Fair is a must do event.”

Ashleigh Fallon, a 2018 GMIT graduate says “The careers fair gave me access to a range of job opportunities, graduate programmes and placements both nationally and internationally. The approachability of exhibitors allows for a great networking opportunity and exposure to the industry.”

The fair is open to all students, graduates, alumni of GMIT, as well as students from other Institutes of education and the general public.  Attendees are advised to bring copies of their current CV.
