Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be drawn towards the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

Study Home Economics at St. Angela’s College - New for 2019!

St. Angela’s College, Sligo are offering a new BA in Home Economics commencing September 2019 (CAO Code: AS054).

This four year, Level 8 Honours Degree is aimed at students with a passion for Home Economics and who are interested in developing a diverse range of knowledge and practical skills underpinned by the subjects three core disciplines:

  • Food Studies
  • Textiles Fashion and Design
  • Family Resource Management
  • Students undertake a 20 week placement in Year 3 of the programme which will allow them to gain further valuable experience in their field. Graduates will find rewarding careers in both community setting such as Home Management Advisors and Early Years Inspectors, Child and Family Agency Section

Graduates may also find employment in industry such as Food Product Development, Food Advisors or Product (equipment) Testers.
