What are your interests?



Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

New undergraduate degree prepares students for a career in International Relations

Middle Eastern and European Languages and Cultures  TR040 

Students interested in a future in international relations, diplomacy, journalism, working with multinationals and global tech companies, with international NGOs, and in careers that demand a deeper understanding of regional cultures, history and politics should consider the degree in Middle Eastern and European Languages and Cultures.

This new degree course prepares students for such careers by providing in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Students study one European language and one Middle Eastern languages alongside the history and culture of the regions.

Students also engage with basic questions around how regions and societies relate to each other and interact culturally and politically. The study-abroad opportunity in year three provides on the ground, practical experience of living and studying in locations throughout these regions.
