Coláiste Íde launches first of its kind Level 6 Pre Universtiy Physiotherapy course in Dublin.

An innovative new Level 6 programme specially designed for post Leaving Certificate students who wish to prepare for entry into a selection of European universities.

Title of Course: Sports and Leisure Management – Pre University Physiotherapy

6M5147 FETAC Level 6 Sports, Recreation and Exercise

Aim

This course aims to provide the successful graduates with the opportunity to gain entry into Physiotherapy courses in a range of universities in Europe.

Entry Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate (minimum five passes including Mathematics and two subjects at higher C3 level). Biology is desirable.

and

  • Personal interview

and

  • Medically certified evidence of fitness to participate in physical activity

Course Content

Sports Industry Practice, Exercise and Fitness, Sports Nutrition, Health Promotion, Sports Anatomy and Physiology, On Site Massage, Biomechanics, Mathematics, Personal and Professional Development, Communications.

Certification

FETAC Level 6 – Sports, Recreation and Exercise award accredited by QQI

Career Opportunities and Progression

Upon successful completion of this one year course graduates are eligible to apply for selected courses in some European universities, in particular The Netherlands, Denmark, Finland and Poland. Students with an interest in physiotherapy as a career would be particularly interested
