Social

The Social person's interests focus on some aspect of those people in their environment. In all cases the social person enjoys the personal contact of other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people, and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.

Strong Links Established with Physiotherapy Programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences

Coláiste Íde's pioneering Pre-University Physiotherapy course has established strong links with the Physiotherapy degree programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS) in The Netherlands.

The university of applied sciences has been offering practice-oriented higher education for more than 215 years. Hanze UAS has approximately 27,000 students, and is based in Groningen, a vibrant university city in the north of the Netherlands.

Graduates of Coláiste Íde’s Pre-University Level 6 programme will be considered for entry once all of the university’s admission requirements have been met. A strong personal statement is also essential when applying. The package is complete with excellent accommodation at an affordable price.

The Physiotherapy programme is a four-year full time programme, and was rated a top programme for 2016.

A recent mature student graduate obtained one out of the 14 prestigious places on offer on the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) Physiotherapy course.

Entry Requirements to the QQI Level 6 Pre University Physiotherapy Course:

  • Leaving Certificate (minimum five passes including Mathematics and two subjects at higher C3 level). Biology is desirable.
