Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Erasmus Placements GTI welcomed 4 Business students from IES Puertas del Campo, Ceuta as part of the Erasmus+ work placement programme. The students will spend 4 weeks developing new key skills and experiencing Galway culture during their 4 week placement. Four GTI Business students will also travel to Ceuta in May, on 3 week work placements, applying many of the skills developed at GTI. 

New Java & Python Online Course Learn to Code in easy steps. Using Java and Python this online course will teach you the fundamentals of programming in an easy-to-follow manner.

GTI Fashion GraduateCongratulations to GTI Fashion Design graduate Róisín Ní Loinsigh who recently graduated from the LSAD BA Fashion Design programme. Pictured with her fabulous end of year design work, and her GTI Fashion tutor- Orla Moore at this years LIT UNWRAP Exhibition. 

May 16th: GTI Annual Film & Animation Showcase: The Golden G Film Awards will take place on Thursday, May 16th @ 7pm at the Picture Pálás, Galway. The event showcases the work of the GTI level 5 & 6 film students along with the work of our Level 6 Animation students.

Annual GTI Art/Animation/Furniture ExhibitionThe annual GTI Art/Animation/Furniture Exhibition will be launched on Thursday 23rd May 2019 at 7pm. This year the exhibition will be held in Galway Technical Institute. This celebration of the work of students from Art & Design Portfolio Preparation, Furniture Design Level 5, Drawing & Visual Inquiry, and Animation Level 6 programmes, will be open from May 24th-28th, 10am til 4pm excluding Sunday.
