What are your interests?



Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Health Care Supervisory Management - 6M4978

This QQI Advanced Level 6 Certificate course offers holders of a QQI Level 5 health-related award the opportunity to undertake further study in this area. The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to undertake Supervisory Management roles in the community and in a range of Health Services settings.

This course is designed to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work in an effective manner in their role as supervisor within the Health Service. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, or equivalent.
  • It is preferable for candidates to have a relevant QQI Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in a care or health related area or relevant life experience.

Students who successfully complete the course may gain entry to Third Level Institutes and Colleges through the QQI Higher Education Links Scheme.


Students who successfully complete the course may gain employment in a wide variety of organisations such as supervisory roles working in the community in areas such as resource centres, nursing homes, crèches, family support and any other healthcare settings.

This is a full-time one-year course and runs from September to May.
