Are you interested in a career in the Automotive or Transport industry?
CIT has the degree for you ...
The BSc in Automotive Technology and Management (Level 7) at CIT has been reviewed by both experts in the motor industry and academics with strong links to the transport and motor industry so as to meet the demands of the ever evolving automotive industry.
|Motor and Transport related Industries are currently suffering from a personnel shortage.
The duration of the course is 3 years which consists of a Level 7 BSc in Automotive Technology and Management with the option of progressing to a Level 8 BSc Honours in Transport Management.
The course still initially encompasses a lot of practical content associated with the basic vehicle technologies in Year 1 and progress on towards the Administration and Management requirements of the industry in Year 3.
There have been large increases in vehicle sales along with new Manufacturers entering the market place which has increased the demand for graduates from our course. A lot of graduates have gained employment prior to graduation.
Demand for male and in particular female staff within the Motor Industry has grown so much that we now struggle to supply enough graduates to meet demand. Employment is being offered in areas such as workshop management, vehicle warranty, administrators, automotive sales, finance and marketing, insurance loss adjusting, customer service, technical support, fleet maintenance, vehicle parts and component procurement.
Likewise due to economic recovery and the growth in imports/exports, the transport industry has also seen a shortage of skilled individuals entering this area of expertise. Employment options are good and offer employment in a wide range of areas such as fleet management, regulation compliance, transport planning and logistical controlling, warehousing and stock controlling, maintenance management, containerisation and shipping, sea rail and air freight.
If you have an interest in automotive vehicles and associated technologies, have good organisational skills, enjoy a hands on approach to problem solving, have good communications skills and would like to work as part of an Administrative Team, the BSc in Automotive Technology and Management (Level 7) may be of interest to you.
Full details available here.
There is the option for students to further their studies and to develop their skills in the area of transport and logistics. This would entail the student completing an additional year to achieve a Level 8 BSc Honours degree in Transport Management. Again such has been the success of this course and industry demands, that almost all graduates are gaining employment prior to graduation through the aid of our very successful work placement programme.
