We asked Brian Cadigan from Department of Education and Skills to give some advice for people considering this job:
|Don't just go into teaching because you are looking for long holidays. To teach everyday you need to like children, be very patient and understanding. However I feel it is one of the most rewarding jobs out there.|

Undergraduate awards typically reflect three to five years of study after secondary school and include Ordinary (Level 7) and Honours Bachelor Degrees and Higher Diplomas (Level 8's).
Undergraduate awards may be achieved directly or through a series of progression steps. Learners may choose to progress upwards from a Level 5 to a Level 6, Level 7 and finally a Level 8.
Undergraduate awards are awarded by the QQI, HEA or Higher Education Institutes.
3rd level Graduates are qualified for a wide range of occupations, and their education prepares them for roles involving specific skills, and for coordinating, supervising, managing, or training others. Examples include accountants, sales managers, computer programmers, teachers, chemists, environmental engineers, criminal investigators, and financial analysts.

The B. Bus in Business has been designed to take account of new and emerging career opportunities in important contemporary areas of business and management. Whether at multi-national level or in the small business sector, the skills and knowledge that students will develop throughout this course are those which are required by employers in the recruitment process in todays dynamic economy. This includes important areas such as Banking, Financial Services, Sales & Marketing and International Marketing, among many others.
Upon successful completion of the B. Bus in Businesss, students will be eligible to progress to the B. Bus (Hons) in Business, which can be completed in 1 year.
