Chinas rapid and sustainable economic growth has seen it become the worlds largest economy. Chinas 1.3 billion people have begun a process of integration into the global economy, particularly since joining the World Trade Organisation in 2001. Chinas opening up has meant increasing linkages with the rest of the world, as reflected in its rising share in world trade, offering export opportunities for Irish companies. China is expected to become Ireland's fourth biggest trading partner by 2030 (Enterprise Ireland (2013) Access China- A Guide to Doing Business in China.)

This course is designed for students who would like to gain skills, knowledge and confidence to do business in and with contemporary China. It provides participants with the knowledge of wider cultural and social issues that underline many aspects of business practice in modern China as well as offering Mandarin Chinese language training. Students on this course will be equipped with the relevant skills and knowledge to cope with the rapidly changing needs of the international employment market.
