Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Undergraduate awards typically reflect three to five years of study after secondary school and include Ordinary (Level 7) and Honours Bachelor Degrees and Higher Diplomas (Level 8's).

Examples include accountants, sales managers, computer programmers, teachers, chemists, environmental engineers, criminal investigators, and financial analysts.

This computing course is aimed at the creative application of software and emerging technology in order to reinvent, reimagine and innovate. It will achieve this by using design skills to determine how best to apply digital technology in business contract.

In years 1 and 2 students will be introduced to core computing subjects along with modules in design and business. In years 3 and 4 the course merges technical skills in high level web and mobile application development, integrating social media applications, implementing cloud computing technologies with a focus on user interface design, informed by business skills in data analytics and entreprenurship.

The course is inspired by two exciting developments in computing, 'Disruptive Innovation' and 'Digital Transformation.
