Social?
Social
The Social person's interests focus on some aspect of those people in their environment. In all cases the social person enjoys the personal contact of other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people, and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.

Course Description

DFEi has a long history of providing training for the furniture industry and DFEi continues to develop the highest standards of skill and craftsmanship for which these courses are recognised. In Year 1, learners interested in design will be introduced to the use of hand tools and woodworking machinery as they construct their furniture projects. In Year 2, learners further develop their skills to create more complex designs. They achieve a higher level of hand skills and wood machining competences using modern technologies including CNC.

What will you Study?

In Year 1, learners interested in the design, manufacture and restoration of furniture will be introduced to the use of hand tools and woodworking machinery as they construct their furniture projects. Learners are encouraged to work independently and in groups to complete their own uniquely designed furniture. Through these practical elements, learners will gain the necessary skills to continue their studies or enter employment in the industry. In Year 2, learners further develop their skills to create more complex designs. They achieve a higher level of hand skills and wood machining competences using modern technologies including CNC.
