It is essential to be a very patient and organised person. Also you must have a sense of humour, be easy going and not take yourself too seriously.

Social
The Social person's interests focus on some aspect of those people in their environment. In all cases the social person enjoys the personal contact of other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Social people are motivated by an interest in different types of people, and like diversity in their work environments. Many are drawn towards careers in the caring professions and social welfare area, whilst others prefer teaching and other 'informing' roles.

Course Description

This is an advanced course designed to suit participants with previous childcare training. It will build on and enhance the knowledge and skills already gained.

It will equip the learner with the skills and expertise to work to Supervisory / Management level in a wide range of settings including Nurseries, Crches, Pre-schools, Day Care Centres and in Primary Schools as Special Needs Assistants. Graduates may also work in centres which cater for children with special needs. This course will meet the needs of the growing childcare provision in Ireland and the new legislation requirements.
