Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be drawn towards the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

Course Description

Have you an aptitude for designing and building games through Scratch or similar programs? Are you mathematical and programming oriented? Do you have a flair for drawing and sketching? Interested in getting on the pathway to a career in the gaming industry where an explosion in on-line activity and the social media is driving phenomenal growth in the games industry? Or would you like to pursue your studies to degree level? This course will introduce you to the technologies and techniques involved in the design and development of games. You will learn to view games as a storytelling medium and to convey concepts through storyboarding techniques and computer graphics. You will get a solid foundation in games design and development for diverse platforms including: mobile, games consoles and on-line games.

What will you Study?

Gaming and design are now the growing industry in Ireland and world wide. Want to know how to develop and design these programmes, then this course is for you. Subjects include: Animation Layout Design, Games Analysis Design, Image Processing.
