Brief Description:
In this new short course you are encouraged to research and work with others while learning about the lifecycle of dogs, the benefits of owning them and what is involved in looking after them.

How will A Personal Project - Caring for Animals [SC] be useful to me?
This short course has four strands: Learning about dogs; Caring for dogs; The dog around the home and The dog in the community.
You will learn about the lifecycle of dogs, the benefits of owning them and what is involved in looking after them.
You will deepen your understanding of the animal and develop skills of classifying, comparing and presenting as you pursue topics in relation to caring for dogs.
You will explore the practical aspects of dog ownership. There are opportunities to reach out to the local community as you learn about health and hygiene, healthy diets for dogs and how much it costs to own one.
You will also learn more about the responsibilities associated with dog ownership and of the assistance dogs provide in the community.
