Realist

Realists are usually interested in 'things' - such as buildings, mechanics, equipment, tools, electronics etc. Their primary focus is dealing with these - as in building, fixing, operating or designing them. Involvement in these areas leads to high manual skills, or a fine aptitude for practical design - as found in the various forms of engineering.

Realists like to find practical solutions to problems using tools, technology and skilled work. Realists usually prefer to be active in their work environment, often do most of their work alone, and enjoy taking decisive action with a minimum amount of discussion and paperwork.

Grants (SUSI) & Scholarships

When you consider the high cost of going to college, it's well worth taking a look at the opportunities available to supplement them in some way.

The Student Grant Scheme

Students attending full-time Higher Education courses (Level 6-9) and full-time Further Education courses (Level 5-6) can get financial support through the means-tested Student Grant Scheme.

The student grant is made up of a Maintenance Grant and a Fee Grant. The Maintenance Grant is a contribution towards living costs and the Fee Grant can cover Tuition fees, Student contribution and the Cost of essential field trips associated with yur course. In general, if you qualify for a maintenance grant, you will also qualify for whatever elements of a fee grant apply to your situation.

Scholarships and Awards

It may surprise you to discover that there are over 300 scholarships and bursaries available in third level institutions across Ireland with a wide variety of criteria for eligibility. These can range from entrance scholarships for exceptional academic results, to supports for sports excellence, or talent in particular subject areas such as music or the arts and many, many more. It is well worth taking the time to investigate the options.

They may prefer thought to action, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems with sophiscticated technology.
