A common misconception about a career in tax is that it is just about numbers, however, tax law has a strong basis in legislation and case law. Therefore, it is really suitable for graduates from a legal background, or for qualified solicitors and barristers.

Enterprising?
Enterprising 
Enterprising people like situations that involve using resources for personal or corporate economic gain. Such people may have an opportunistic frame of mind, and like commerce, trade and making deals. Some are drawn to sales and marketing occupations. Many will eventually end up owning their own business, or managing a section in larger organisations. They tend to be very goal-oriented, and work best when focused on a target. Some have an entrepreneurial inclination.

Maria Kinsella-White works as an Operations Consultant for McDonald's. Following her Leaving Certificate she did a Diploma in Accountancy and Computer Technology, a Secretarial Course and Various computer courses (Excel, Word, Outlook, AS400 etc). She is responsible for providing leadership and direction for six restaurants, to maximise their long-term sales and profit potential and to build a positive business relationship with Restaurant Managers and the Restaurant Management Team.
