Clerical and administration work is what keeps a workplace ticking. Any modern organisation produces vast amounts of paper work and records, the people who handle this are the life blood of the office. In the final quarter of 2017 the number employed in administrative and support services was 94,700, representing 4.2% of national employment. Of this, 46% were employed in buildings and landscape services, smaller amounts were employed in office administrative activities (16%) and security activities (13%) with smaller numbers working in travel services and renting/leasing.
Although large numbers are employed in administration, growth is on a par with the national average. There appears to be high churn in the sector, with employees moving between jobs and into other sectors frequently.As a receptionist, you are the first impression of a company.
