The Social person's interests focus on interacting with the people in their environment. In all cases, the Social person enjoys the personal contact with other people in preference to the impersonal dealings with things, data and ideas found in other groups.

Many will seek out positions where there is direct contact with the public in some advisory role, whether a receptionist or a counsellor. Customer Support is the assistance of customers with any issues they are having via phone or email. Telesales staff often work in similar environments to Customer Support Workers. They work in large offices named call centres where each desk is set up for making phone-calls. However, instead of receiving calls the Telesales workers are calling people to try to make sales.

As people become more dependant on online services and buy more goods from online services, demand for customer support is growing.

It can be a challenging field, demanding constant focus and an ability to think quickly. Phone calls with people unhappy with a broken product or unsatisfactory service can be very difficult. Hours can be flexible though, making the area appealing to those trying to combine work with another activity such as study.
