Students will take courses in a variety of scientific areas, such as animal, crop, environmental and food sciences. Students will also learn about the relationship between agriculture and consumers within the relevant economics and business modules. The programme will incorporate an agricultural placement in the third year of the programme.

Agricultural Science - TL848

Agricultural science is the application of science and business to the primary production of quality food. This course will assist farmers in applying scientific knowledge to farm management helping to ensure that the range of agricultural activities - environmental protection, food safety, animal welfare, the handling and operation of machinery - are considered in the context of animal and crop production.

A twelve-week work placement is a central feature of this programme. As a third-year student, you take part in a structured period of work experience in a relevant setting. It’s while on placement that you really see the value of your academic learning in a real-life working environment.
