Creative

Creative people are drawn to careers and activities that enable them to take responsibility for the design, layout or sensory impact of something (visual, auditory etc). They may be atrracted to the traditional artistic pursuits such as painting, sculpture, singing, or music. Or they may show more interest in design activities, such as architecture, animation, or craft areas, such as pottery and ceramics.

Creative people use their personal understanding of people and the world they live in to guide their work. Creative people like to work in unstructured workplaces, enjoy taking risks and prefer a minimum of routine.

General Nursing - AS110

The Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) – General, is a four year degree pre-registration programme. The programme is offered in conjunction with Sligo General Hospital and other Health Service Executive organisations and groups in the Western region.

Two thirds of the theory component of the programme is devoted to nursing subjects, one sixth to science subjects and one sixth to the social sciences.

The course is taught through lectures, seminars, group work, role play, workshops, and practical skills training.  We assess learning through essays; exams; posters; group presentations and by observing students completing a nursing skill.

In each semester students will undertake at least one clinical module whereby time will be spent in the hospital or community learning the art of general nursing. Students spend over half of the programme in the hospital or community settings.
