Accounting - CK202
The Accounting degree is to provide a broad business education and produce graduates who have skills for critical thinking, problem-solving, independent learning and all within an informed ethical framework.

While there is an emphasis on accounting, other areas such as business information systems, economics, finance, law, management, marketing, psychology, statistics and taxation are also covered.

Students are not expected to have any knowledge of business when commencing the BSc Accounting degree. All subjects are taught from a foundation level. The first two years of the course focus on the fundamental aspects of each business discipline. In Years 3 and 4, coverage of materials is at a more advanced level. Year 3 also includes a paid six-month work placement, which is organised by UCC.
