Naturalist

Not surprisingly, some aspect of the natural sciences will run through the Naturalist's interests - from ecological awareness to nutrition and health. People with an interest in horticulture, land usage and farming (including fish) are Naturalists.

Some Naturalists focus on animals rather than plants, and may enjoy working with, training, caring for, or simply herding them. Other Naturalists will prefer working with the end result of nature's produce - the food produced from plants and animals. Naturalists like solving problems with solutions that show some sensitivity to the environmental impact of what they do. They like to see practical results and prefer action to talking and discussing.

Biomedical Engineering - CR075

biomedical Engineering combines engineering with an appreciation of the functioning of the human body, whether healthy, injured or diseased. In the clinical context, biomedical engineers play a key role in designing, sourcing and maintaining equipment, facilities and services within hospitals. Products include prosthetic devices to provide the disabled with tools to improve their quality of life, disposable plastic and wound care products, and precision metal implants including pacemakers, microelectronic devices, orthopaedic implants, diagnostics, contact lenses and stents. This programme is designed to provide Biomedical Engineering Technologists for the hospital and medical device manufacturing environments. The course is delivered through formal lectures, tutorials, practical and project work. There are a number of dedicated Biomedical Engineering laboratories containing leading edge technology.
