Company/Organisation Profile

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is the only centre for veterinary education in Ireland, and enjoys a long and proud tradition. This leading veterinary school provides excellent facilities for the care of animals and training opportunities for veterinary medicine and nursing students.

As the only Veterinary School on the island of Ireland we are proud to hold accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) following a successful reaccreditation site visit in January 2014.

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is located in a new purpose-designed Veterinary Sciences Centre and Veterinary Hospital on the main UCD campus at Belfield. The UCD Veterinary Hospital offers a range of high-quality veterinary services for both farm and companion animals and this caseload provides very important opportunities for our students to complete their clinical training requirements.

Our state-of-the-art facilities and position on the campus of a major research-intensive university allow us to push back the frontiers of knowledge in veterinary research, thus advancing animal health, animal welfare and human health. This research informs our educational programmes, ensuring that all of our students, whether studying to be veterinary nurses, veterinarians, veterinary specialists, or for advanced research degrees, receive a world-class education.

Placement Details
